Flippity

I've recently come across a web tool called Flippity which can be accessed at  flippity.net.

Flippity is an online tool for creating games, virtual flashcards, certificates and more. Using the Google Sheets / templates provided you can easily modify the sheets to create and share the activities with students.  Lots of cool stuff and it’s free - no sign-up required.

You can access the Google Sheets templates directly from the Flippity website or use the Flippity Add-on in Google Sheets.  Either way you will find it is convenient and easy to customize the sheets with your material. A link to the online activity is built into the sheet so it is easily accessible.

Find the tool you want to use.  You can view the Demo and Instructions to see how it works first.  Then, click on Template & make a copy as directed.  

When you make a copy of the sheet Flippity creates a web link (URL) to the file that will be accessed by you and or/students.  This link is placed on the sheet tab labeled “Get Link Here”.

• Follow the instructions to modify the sheet for your classroom use.  Most of the sheets require that you do not change anything in the cells that are shaded in blue.
• Once you’ve made all the changes go to File menu and choose Publish to the Web, then click Publish.
• As mentioned previously the link that gives access to the game or activity is on the sheet tab titled “Get Link Here”.
• This is convenient because this will always be the link to the online source.

Flippity can be used for review, collaboration, formative assessment and more.
