Create a Poster with Google Slides

Here is a quick and easy way to create a digital poster using a Google Presentation (one slide) and the Drawing Tools.  A variety of objects can be inserted along with images and video.  Animation can even be added to make it more interactive.

Start a New Google Presentation
Remove Boxes by clicking on blue border and press delete (even if you don’t delete the boxes they will not appear if you don’t put any text in them)

Change Orientation
This is optional - but I made mine portrait.

Click dropdown and choose Custom
Set width and height as desired

Change Background Image or Color:

Choose Background from toolbar

To change the Image click Choose:

As you can see there are several different options to choose from

Insert WordArt

Insert Menu, WordArt

Enter text in WordArt Box

Press Enter to insert WordArt into slide

Use these tools to customize the WordArt

Add Shapes and Callouts

**Double click on shapes to add text**

Insert Images
There are many different ways to insert images into the slide/poster

Group objects
Sometimes you just want to keep two or more objects together wherever they move on slide.  You can group the objects together (making them one object) by selecting each object as follows:

Press Shift key and click on the objects you want to group (a square will appear around selected objects)

Right click on any of the selected objects and choose Group from the menu.
Now you can edit, move or arrange them as if they were one object.

You can use the Insert menu to insert/Embed a Video by searching or pasting a URL.

When you are done choose File, Publish to the web...
Copy and share the link or share the embed code
