Hello to all of you taking the MTI 562 Course!
This is a blog I have been using intermittently for the past two years. As you can see I am using it mostly as a personal reflection blog (professionally speaking). Mostly I write about the various technology tools I have used in my classes and what I liked/disliked about the technology overall.
I am really looking forward to learning more about how I can use some new to me (and not so new to me) tools that will be discussed in this class along with various teaching methodologies. My overall goal is to apply what I learn in the course in my classes and share new technology integration strategies and ideas with colleagues.
Since I am a technology teacher I am quite comfortable using technology in the classroom; however technology is always changing and as with anything there is always room for growth and improvement.
What types of technology do you teach? Do you work in a resource center or in classrooms? Just curious. I hoping to one day have a similar career! : )
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie,
DeleteI teach a Digital Literacy class that is a course requirement of all freshmen in the fall semester (in a computer lab/classroom). It's sort of an introduction to computer type class - that's what it used to be called but it has evolved over the years. I also teach web design, and a computer tech support class - in this class we have tech support students who respond to tech issues around the school - in this class I learn along with the students and often they know more than me about some of the real technical stuff. I am learning new things all the time. The tech support class allows me to offer tech integration support to teachers as well.
Hey, Debbie, what program (or webtool) do you use for websites?
DeleteI checked out a few of your previous posts. I am already learning something new. I took a look at Answer Garden and Code HS. They both look very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are a great resource for your students. I can't wait to hear more about your experiences.
