Going Paperless with Google Docs to Streamline Feedback & Grading

This is a follow up to the Google Doc Tips posted last week.

If you've been thinking about going paperless but are still on the fence - utilizing the Tools, Preferences feature may actually push you over.

You can use this feature to create shortcuts that will be replaced with canned text/responses or editing suggestions.  Setting up preferences can help you save time providing feedback and grading essays,  papers, and reports.

Watch this video to see how it works:

The shortcut/code you create that will be replaced with a string of text is totally up to you.  For instance I used s3 for [incomplete sentence] someone else may want to use inc as it may make more sense.  Choose the shortcuts that will work best for your grading process.

A special thanks to M. Martin for providing me with some common editing suggestions the English dept. uses.
